writing of reading

so, i like literature, a lot.  i like literature classes and talking about literature.  i actually kind of enjoy writing about literature because it makes me think about what i'm reading, but no matter how much i like writing about literature, i still think it's stupid.  in my opinion, one should read a novel, not to discover what the author wants you to know, but to discover for yourself what the literature can teach you and how you can apply it to your life personally.  so, i think writing about literature and reading essays or articles about literature is stupid.  just thought i'd throw that out there.
